Today in #PerfumeCamp #ScentGarden I am thrilled to see a lot of native bumble bees, hummingbirds today feeding on nectar from honeywort, borage and more. I saw clematis in bloom w a native bee going in for nectar. These are the gifts of IMBOLC here in our grand ocean side town. I am so happy. A neighboring farm posted some pictures of flowers too, so tis the season. Let' s rock n roll.

Dear Friends + Family, Happy Imbolc. This begins SPRING II Season which goes through March 20 + 21st: Spring Equinox. We planted over 400 Bulbs: Daffodils, Allium + Tulips a few days ago in our Big Scent Garden and Raised Beds. We scattered California Poppy Seeds here and there, for a spring bloom. Zinnia seeds + Sunflower Seeds will be planted soon. We are adding a raised bed to the driveway in front of LPO Shop to echo our other raised beds and provide a home for beauty. Hibernation Season ends with some rain and a good watering for garden. Perfume Camp is being scheduled for now on Tuesdays. Reach out to me now to schedule something soon. Perfume Testers have returned in shop. Come smell all the seasonal picks, and aphrodisiacs for Valentine's Day Gifting. Self Care is essential at this time of year. I am putting together some beautfiul boxes for giving this season. Let me know what you want. Some new surprises, valentine's cards in shop! Come check out the nursery soon for strawberries to plant, calendula, and succulents. Bouquets will return as soon as garden and weather permits, thank you loyal supporters!
Dear Family and Friends,
Here we are a week out before Thanksgiving. I just drove the whole coast between Pescadero and Davenport, watching a gorgeous apricot + fog sunset this afternoon. It's such a pretty season settling in here. I have been ordering my new Christmas Trees (I got three), ornaments, and organizing my Perfume Organs (three). In between running our shops (three), ordering replacements for home in clothing categories, home categories and more: I have been shipping out holiday orders from such sweet and thoughtful people, holding small Perfume Camp Sessions regularly for people who are adventurous, digging our Dahlias + Storing them for winter, weeding, harvesting artichokes, swiss chard, kale and hoping our new tribe of hummingbirds have enough nectar for winter, in between the frosts. We made sweaters for our lemon trees, and we really just are having a great time with close friends grilling steaks, champagne drinking, dessert eating, and more. My friend Tori introduced me to a new skin care line from Australia. I have gone nuts ordering everything they make, and doing some amazing skin care regimes. In the past year I have really noticed my face aging with fine lines. I really had a very long run of youthful looks, and got carded until age 35, which I loved. Now, at age 63, I have been really taking advantage of so many ideas from this company, and got a sweet beautiful shift in taking the time during the pandemic to cleanse, tone, and do so much for my skin. I just got a lovely regenerative violet leaf aging night cream from the same company that is for someone like me fighting fine lines, etc...... When I was young I created Angel Glow Serum. I created some flower water facial toners, and some bath goodies, and I have always kept my regime simple. Now, with a new awareness, I have just been enjoying self care more, and just dove in so deep. Not my usual.....but I also started wearing make up after years not wearing anything. My friend Melissa sent me so many care packages with make up, hyaluronic acid face mask sheets, and way more goodies. It just started me off on a whole new path. Isn't it interesting? For many many years I was stuck only wearing my own brand, now branching out to experience what other experts have created, and just having a fun time. HA! Laughing at myself, this time we are in, and how I am changing things up. I wanted to share that with all of you just because I think it's so good to honour our intuition at this time, with all of the home stay time we are embracing. I am usually an up at 2 - 4am kind of gal, go get em, and 12 hr days workaholic, yet during covid since March I have found a new way to be, and that includes celebrating with friends, taking things slower, finding more me time, and so forth. I decided to move the Perfume Organs back to Davenport, after fires destroyed my home in August. So, we spent 6 weeks redesigning shelves and we have pretty much completed this project. Today was a very interesting creative endeavor. I hosted a florist from Oakland and her staff recently for Perfume Camp a few weekends ago.....and you know I love her location. Rock Ridge. I have so many scent memories of culture that supported me there: hair updates, dinner with dear friends, groceries at the local places, skin care, and clothing shops, private parties at homes close by.....so TODAY I created a new perfume that honours that place: Rock + Ridge. Here are the notes: Cypress, Ginger, Olive Absolute, Mugwort, Lemon Verbena, Magnolia, Lavendar, Geranium, Wild Chamomile, Bergamot, Narcissus, Mock Orange, Jasmine Sambac, LIlac, White Lotus, Heliotrope, Hyacinth, Gradenia Supreme, Firetree, Eucalyptus, Palo Santo, Violet Leaf, Myrrh and Chlorophyll. It's setting up nicely tonight, we'll give it some time to blend in, and then ship some off to our dear friend Sarah up in Rock + Ridge for her perusal. It is my own memory of magnolia, hyacinth, narcissus beautiful spring scents in the woodland neighborhood gardens. xo Love to you! Other happenings: IF you are booking a perfume camp experience for the holiday season please get in touch now. Thank you! For the shop we have new puzzles in, new parfums, new aprons, tea towels, candles, and so much more. Let me know how you are doing. We are working from Davenport Mon, Tue, Wed, and in Pescadero Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun. If you would wish a private shopping experience please reach out. We're enjoying the one at time shoppers, with a mask on. Come prepared to smell some scents, we can absolutely apply to a stick for you, to slip up under your mask. I hope you will all have a lovely Holiday Season, and reach out of course if there is anything we can do for you. I just created a gift pack for a gentleman for his daughter. We are able to customize for you. Love, Libby The name of the skin care line I have been loving is Grown Alchemist. The name of the florist in Rock Ridge is Wildflower and Fern. Thanks~ Hi Friends and Family,
A few notes from the Perfume Studio in Davenport. Some projects that were designed for the Perfume Studio about three to four years ago are being completed. In a time where we are working on self care I have been taking more time here in the studio to create new shelving, move manufacturing back to this location, and to create a separate perfume organ here based on top notes, heart notes and base notes. We're in the week of completion here where we will be installing the final aspects to create the dream I envisioned these years back. I am very grateful to my team who has helped me recognize this milestone. We'll be scheduling Level II, IV and V here for students, along w special NEST SESSIONS over the Holiday which will encompass a 3 day immersion in Perfume Camp for a Level I, II and III all in one Nesting Experience. So Happy To Be Able to Offer this very rare opportunity for my dedicated students. We'll be posting more about this soon, if interested, please reach out. It's been such a journey rebuilding after the fires. It will be a longer story or process, as my friend Conni said: it's a scavenger hunt to replace some vintage china, silverware and more treasures, over time. I love the process, and feel like I am one of the lucky ones. Thanks for everyone who has supported me during this time. I do not zoom, I don't video facetime, but I can schedule a time for connecting, for those who are ongoing students, during this time. If you would love to connect please let me know. Meanwhile, we continue to offer the best quality ingredients. All Herbal teas, Perfumes and products we make are organix. Thanks to our team for helping create a beautiful experience in shops, gardens, and in our studios. I love you all. Thanks for following us. Dear Friends and Family,
For those who have been supporting us as we have meandered through grief, loss, and trauma at the complete loss of our home due to the California Wildfires thank you so much. We have been staying at friends who also lost their home, then in our Perfume Camp Barn in the Garden (adventurous couple of nights and days), and in the Perfume Studio in Davenport over the Davenport Beach Bluffs (soothing sound of waves at night). Shops are back open for the holiday weekend, and we are sunny and hot here. Looking forward to being able to offer Perfume Camp again in the coming weeks. In preparation we have begun to get the barn ready for students, and the garden is in harvest mode. For ongoing students please check in with me for dates for your next sessions. Thank you so much. We'll be open Today, Sunday and Monday 12 to 4pm. We'll be closed Tue, Wed this next week, reopening Thu thru Sun. Thank you. You can support us through our online shop: LibbyPatterson.com and scheduling a Perfume Camp Session. My good friend Gail set up a #GoFundMe for those who wish to donate (Thank you): https://www.gofundme.com/f/lost-everything-in-a-fire-assistance-for-libby Please reach out if you would like to study with me as an advanced student. I will be offering a Sun, Mon, Tue retreat that includes guest accomodations locally in Pescadero at the Nest, foraging walks, garden time, perfume class, and shared cooked meals. Thank you for your interest. These cocoon sessions of nature immersions will begin in early November and are a perfect sequestering away from urban busy-ness during the holiday season. More will be posted about these Cocoon Sessions at the Nest soon. Love, Libby In the big bustle of the harvest we have been busy making bouquets, and potting up strawberries, succulents, herbs, flowers for you and your garden. It's been a whirlwind with small details that have created some beautiful changes in the garden and in the shops.
If you haven't already come on a Thursday to see our local farmer market, I highly recommend it. It's on through the 1st of October. Thank you for supporting our local shops to help us to keep being able to thrive. It really means the most to us. We have been able to expand our vegetable and flower offerings this year thanks to some good weather and the supplies of rich compost, soil and seeds. Shop Hours: Thu - Sun 12 to 4 Mon - Wed by appt only Perfume Camp: by appt only Hope this helps. We encourage you to let us help you shop by appointment for the upcoming holiday season. We have already started to bring in very special items that will be gift oriented, so please reach out and let us know how we can get you scheduled for a private appt for shopping or a Perfume Camp Session. The Perfume Camp Scent Garden is full of dahlias, sunflowers, herbs and vegetables. We encourage you to join us in our endeavor to create joy and beauty within the core of our happy town. Thank you for those of you who have Tipped The Garden when you shop. Thanks to your precious extra dollars we invested in a long table aside the barn where we build flower bouquets and teach. We also created a deck where a walking meditation during a Perfume Camp Session can linger to look over the garden while envisioning your perfume. Thanks for visiting, hope to see you again soon. We are designing some new scents for release in Septembre. XO Stay Tuned. We will be hosting A Reserve Parfum Scent Journey in Septembre. More information will be shared soon. Where I live we are expecting another heat wave here for the next couple of days. Besides watering garden deeply I have a big square shaped room fan turned on a lowest setting. The house is still cool, I have drawn all the window blinds and closed windows. (I do not have air conditioning.)
I like spraying a couple of spritzes of LPO Beach Sunrise Parfum or LPO Lavendar Parfum into the fan and then poof my whole house smells amazing, cool, and pretty. Try it with any Organic Parfum, just a couple pumps of scent into the fan from about 4 feet away, and watch it waft over you and through your house. Let me know how you like it. In Mid March I indulged myself in healthy choices all the way around the kitchen because of the pandemic. I upped the ante by loading up on vitamins, I signed up for an organic CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) from Fifth Crow Farm in Pescadero and a Meat CSA (organic) from Markegard Ranch also in Pescadero. And I brought all my herb teas home. Over the past almost three months now, I have discovered well worn patterns in tea mash ups that I like to make. So today I am sharing my teas with you based on my own mash ups. It's mainly a visual clutter solution for me, so if you don't need this solution, keep everything separated in their original paper bags. It gives you more freedom, long term. In every area of my life I have been doing organizing. This is just another area, after spending more time at home due to the Covid-19. So, here is how I am organizing. I will give you my mash up recipes: Number 1: Dream Tea, Happy Tea, Pink Rose Tea, Nourish Tea + Hibiscus Tea This is so pretty and Love it, make it around dinner time to sip on while I clean up dishes, take a bath, listen to a podcast or watch a Hallmark Movie before bedtime. It's beautiful, pink, tastes great, relaxes my adrenals, blood cleanser and is good for my skin. Number 2: Poetry Tea, Refresh Tea, Detox Tea, Mullein Tea, Hibiscus Tea A bright herbal tea that makes a lovely iced tea. I brew, let cool to room temp and then pour over ice into a carafe. Sip sip, do a pour into a tall iced tea glass over ice cubes, garnish w a fresh mint leaf and lemon slice Number 3: Nourish Tea, Self Care Tea, Hibiscus Tea, Mullein Tea I love this tea during a busy day or weekend. I like this one hot, but when chilled is a great go to for the next day. Blood cleanser, detoxer, great after a party night. Number 4: Brain Tea, Lemon Balm Tea, Mullein Tea, Hibiscus Tea Morning gentle wake up herbal tea. You will LOVE this one, mash it up at home. Number 5: Our Home Made Chai Tea (coming this autumn to the shop) I make a dirty chai with this added in with a french press of coffee - SlowCoast style. Buy all the teas you need from LPO and try some of our MASH UPS. I have a very organized kitchen now. BLESS~ We have signage at the entry to shop but here is how we are best serving you at this time:
You are welcome to enter the shop one person at a time, with a no touch policy. If you see something you are buying then you may pick it up. As for trying parfums, it's been very successful for you to read our list of parfums on door and request scent strips for the ones you would like to smell. Then I will put some parfum on a scent strip for you that you can smell under mask for determining which scents are right for you. Because a lot of our soliflore parfums are also amazing as anti bacterials, anti virals we have been selling quite a few of our spray parfums for use to keep your masks hygienically clean, comfortably scented.. Apricot, Jasmine, Lavendar, Rose, Rose Geranium, Ocean Whisper, Big Sur all have been super popular at this time. We're open today Moday Memorial Day from 11 to 4, again. I will be happy to make some herbal tea suggestions as well. Thanks, Libby |
