I have grown fond of Dahlias. We grew some as an homage last year among all our sunflowers and herbs to the Pescadero Flowery who inhabited the space we now garden in. They made everything look so easy, fun and beautiful. This year we have double the number of dahlias: Nature shows us her abundance~ and today a woman came by with dinnerplate dahlias as an offering for the garden. Of course I am excited to plant these as we did not have any last year. We are looking forward to another stellar year in the garden.
Spent some of what was supposed to be a rain day today organizing, watering, and getting our shops ready for the weekend ahead. Stop by we are open every day from 11am till 4pm for your perusal. We have some healthy succulents now in the nursery and soon will have starts of flowers for you, by spring equinox. Are you getting excited about your garden too? What are you planting? xo L

New Batch of Detox Tea has been reconfigured to be a super light alchemical solution to our prevention of viruses and bacterial infections. So, the formula features the mullein and red clover and ashwaghanda prominently to help flush and keep throat happy.
I brew a french press (32 oz) each eve, and do a pour over a cut lemon and a blood orange which has more vit c than other oranges. I sip sip sip on the hot blend all through the eve, and place the rest in the fridge for the next morning chilled. Delish! Try it please, it's so beautiful. Today in the garden we will be transplanting some of our newest seedlings into larger homes. :) This time of the year is always so fun to watch instagram of our farmer friends to see how much work it takes to make our organic food. In particular I watch for best practices and the way that people we know pour so much love + passion into creating our food systems so that we are guaranteed to eat healthy. I support our local Pescadero Farmer Market which is slated to begin sometime in June this year. Small, intimate: it brings the community together with a weekly selection of the best grass fed meats, vegetables, fruits and flowers. Simplify, focus, plan on being here, and surround yourself with healhy choices. #MondayMotivation.
We fed a lot of people with the addition of tomatoes, cucumbers, and more last year. This year we hope to do the same again. Big thanks to everyone who is supportive of our endeavors and your own local farmer communities. We grow herbs and flowers for our perfumes and herbal teas mostly in our Perfume Camp Scent Garden. When you shop with us you are supporting many farmers who we buy from of botanicals that may be too exotic for us to grow here. Thanks again. The Amazing Tea pictured below is a good one to combat a head cold before you get one, as a preventive measure. It is made from native yarrow, mints and hyssop that we grow in our garden. Hi everyone, it was fun celebrating women's day with all of you. Come join us next Sunday for some lovely music by Robert Elmond Stone. He plays a country twang that will be on the SlowCoast Deck.
