Here is an amazing view of the Region where I live.
SLOWCOAST, LAST CHANCE ROAD above Waddell Creek and leading up in to Big Basin. I am feeling so grateful to Evan Gurnee for this photo~ Dear Friends & Family,
I hope this message finds you blessed with this peak moment in Spring Season: our Equinox. I have been mostly doing weeding in the garden, but we have been busy making perfumes from the garden and the wild raw botanicals that are so abundant this season. We received a plethora of lettuces, herbs, flowers and lots of sugar snap peas, strawberries. Come and get your organic garden starts that will be fun for you to grow your own food! This week has been meditative, opening up in to the new time changes so our evenings are longer. Today we are expecting rain storm which will help feed the newly planted garden. SO exciting...xo Have a lovely lovely weekend, we are still celebrating here. We'll be working again tomorrow, on Sunday in the LPO Scent Garden weeding, and watering in some new seeds. The SPRING EQUINOX celebration continues. Stop by to say hello and walk through the garden to see how things are starting to shape up.
I heard from a friend who reached out to me some time last year for some beautiful Gardenia Tiare Parfum. I sent her some Lemon Verbena Flower Water too. She went silent until this eve when she opened up and spoke to me about her path over the past year.
Her story: " I wanted you to know what my daughter & I did with the Products we received from you. But i have been far too emotional to discuss it with you...My friend was dying shortly after we got your package...we held onto it til the time was right & when she passed(pancreatic cancer). Her Body we washed & annotated with all the Gardenia Perfume & Lemon Verbena Water..it was our gift to bless her with these .I'm finally able to share with you. Way too sad for me.she was my closest & dearest friend of 50 years...Thank You for your goodness..." I won't divulge her name. However, I lost both my parents in the early 2000's. Since then I have heard some stories about death. One I heard was yesterday which said the brain continues for 10 minutes after the heart stops beating. I also read something about Egyptians that says they mummified their dead so they could come back for reinhabiting their bodies. Still more information came to me recently that states that the way we die can lead to us dissolving our bodies and taking them with us. My friend and I chatted about death, because we are all guaranteed an experience with this transition. I wrote to her thanking her for sharing because who is going to take care of US? When we die, pass over, transition? It was the most beautiful testimonial I have ever received about how someone has used my organic perfumes and botanicals. I am humbled deeply and feel that this conversation is something we should open up. Dr. Wallace J Nichols is writing his next book now, which will include the 7 Ages of Water. The final stage is death. One of our colleagues works in hospice. She helps people to die with dignity. Isn't that what we all want? I will be 60 in October. It amazes me what we are up to in this world now. We are able to create loving transitional annointings for our beloveds. I think we should pursue more conversation of how we want to be laid to rest after we pass on. I know for younger people when a parent passes, or someone of deep friendship it is more of a shock. As we age the trajectory is to make the most of our lives. I learned from my mother to have friends of all ages and beliefs. This keeps us young. How do we best transition into soul/spirit world. I think we can open up this conversation. I was so humbly moved by my friend's report of how she annointed her best friend with LPO Scents. It makes me consider what I would like. Yes. My aunts and uncles, grandparents were buried. My parents were cremated. Which is the path of the most spiritual transition? In Egypt they mummified their leaders in the pyramid awaiting rebirth. Annointment sounds good. I am loving our guides on this path. Let's keep adding more. Diane Gray in Naples, Florida who works in Hospice Care and Carroll Harrington's friend Paula who is starting a business where people can stay in their homes will be guides for us. I would also love for LPO to be a guide as we age. So much to consider. The baby boomers will be the most amazing aging generation yet. Wait for it. We will see it. Listening to Hugh Masekala The Lasting Impressions of Ooga Booga I love you all. Merci pour toutes! XO L It's a gorgeous day already and it is only 8:11am here on the SLOWCOAST.
Happy Pi Day. If you are feeling adventurous and wanting a drive for PIE on Pi Day, I suggest that you come see the following farms, and restaurants on our coastline. Start out either end north or south and traveling up or down highway one to enjoy some amazing pies today. Make it a progressive pie party. If you start out from the Bay Area up north or south bay, you can begin at Duartes in Pescadero with their Ollalieberry Pie a la mode. Mmmm....bring friends so you can keep room for the rest of the tour. Heading south your next stop is Pie Ranch in Pescadero near Ano Nuevo. The pie to try if they have it is the Lemon Buttermilk. :) Next stop of course heading south is Swanton Berry Farm in Davenport. They usually have a berry pie of some sort: tayberry maybe? YUM! After Swanton, you can take a walk at the Landing before heading to your final stop at Whale City Bakery for their Ollalieberry Pie. That is 4 stops, so bring some friends, and if you time things right it's TACO TUESDAY tonight at the Davenport Roadhouse. Come say hi at Slowcoast where you can pick up some honey, cold brew coffees, honeycomb and your next cozy farmshirt. I will be on hand to take you through a small mini Scent Journey of the LPO line of Parfums, Serums and Herb Teas. Have a great day no matter where you celebrate PI day. xo Putting together the list of plants we will be adding to our nursery this week. It's time to come shop for your herbs and flowers!
Should have some in stock at our SLOWCOAST Nursery this weekend. Come by and check out the beautiful succulent gardens that our local surfer created in driftwood from the winter storms that came up on our beaches. Hope to see you soon in Davenport at the Nursery and SCENT GARDEN. For those interested in PERFUME CAMP, book soon. xo Here's what's on order: Lavendar Munstead Lavendar Sweet Rosemary Tuscan Sage White Yarrow Marjoram Golden Oregano Italian Peas Sugar Snap Lettuce Parsley Chard Strawberry This Beautiful Parfum is available now in our Slowcoast Pescadero store and online at libbypatterson.com. A lot of women are resonating with the light shimmer of this parfum.
I want to list out the ingredients for everyone so there is a way to understand the shimmer. :) Labdanum: amber accord Frankincense Tonka Bean Jasmine Sambac Rose Bulgarian These are the basic ingredients, and this I would say is a medium volatility parfum that does have a sustainable sillage longer than our soliflore collections. Therefore it is a good date night parfum. The smooth path of this beauty is good for any season. I have enjoyed it in winter as a warming during the lovely cold and rain. As Spring is here, I am experiencing things a different way. I still LOVE this Blue Moon and find it heating up more, as an aphrodisiac. You can try it in the Pescadero Store this weekend. 251 Stage Rd, Pescadero, Ca. SLOWCOAST xo L |
