The Strawberries & Thyme in the Garden are a harbinger of summer that is coming up next. Planning for Perfume Camp, planting a scent garden that is used for tincturing, infusions, tea making. So lovely to get things ready, lined up for summer time.
It's an exciting addition having herbs that were started on my LPO Oceanside Deck, moved over to the Slowcoast Stream LPO Sponsored Garden, now expanding. We are working with hay bales to form several herb rooms that will create scent gardens for classes and workshops. Coming up as a part of our STUDIO DAY June 18th for Summer Solstice will be some work in the garden as we continue to explore scents through perfume making. Hope to see you here. xo L

Forty three years ago today I planted trees at Old Trail School in Bath, Ohio with my math and science teacher Mrs Alliger, and fellow students. These trees are now tall and tower over a field hockey meadow along a gorgeous meandering country road.
I credit these formative years in the sixties and seventies with my botanical interest and keen focus on wildflowers. My parents indulged every nuance of a garden that I created. From a young age I enjoyed a sense of design fundamentals from my father and mother who were both extremely creative people. Fast forward, Spring 2016 Current Project In the midst of building a master garden that will serve as a perfume garden, as well as a cooking garden. Some public space that can be enjoyed by people who come from near and far. Current Earth Day Parfums: Artichoke Earth and Puma which are from my gratitude perfume collections. In the bottle for a couple of years, mature and forming a round, fluid beauty regime. Tomorrow will be an amazing chance to celebrate the farmers, ranchers, and artists in our region. Slowcoast is hosting. Looking forward to sharing the Current Projects and Parfums. 450 Highway One, Davenport, Ca 95017. Thanks for Anna for the lovely article about my Artichoke Earth Parfum. My inspiration interestingly enough to create this parfum came from meditations in the Teresa and Brock Bradford terraced gardens above Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, coupled with a private client request to create an organic and wildcrafted version of the original Men's Cologne, ACQUA DI PARMA for her husband for father's day/birthday and anniversary. She said that he would appreciate that more than any apparel or temporary gift. A custom scent she continued would be awesome and unexpected. I love that my friend Anna fell in love with this scent that brings her back to Big Sur while also having a deep connection to her area in Italy near Tuscany, Florence, and the most beautiful center of slow food. The notes are all very citrusy, and summery, clear, crisp, like a men's cologne should be.
