![]() Report from my meditations over the recent cross quarter holiday…. from 2012. Looking back through old writings to see where I have been and how I got here. Although time doesn't exist as a separate entity but all at once, here is the message from the forest which was one of mutual respect. That makes sense, for the harvest season, the amazing beginning of the autumn, which peaks on autumn equinox that we just experienced in 2017. SO there is a stretchy 5 year period here, that measures some passage of time and development of perfumes and gardens. Although philosophy remains much the same. 2012: Aug 5th~ Here is my rambling missive from the other day: Happy Llamas Day…..cross quarter holiday (six weeks between summer solstice and autumn equinox) for those who follow the solstices and equinoxes. I don’t like the W label. In fact, I don’t like any label. I am in the redwoods, this holiday, which I am thrilled about. The days and nights seamlessly spiral into the next, highlighted with insects, birds, new orange tabby kittens, and the nature’s intelligence of the plant neural network. In my steep hikes, up into the redwoods, I have been meditating on the thick undergrowth around the edges of the forest, as a protection, to the deeper mysteries. I have had some time to tune in with, communicate, with, and receive some downloads from certain plants….all are talking but not all get respect. Yes, we are talking poison oak. There are a couple of other plants I want to include here, because they are in season, and so my LLAMAS DAY missive is going to be a message from the plant kingdom, which I am privy to be ensconced by, in the middle of this beautiful stand, of redwoods, along the SLOW COAST, above SANTA CRUZ, in a mini town, with a bakery, a post office, a store that sells peanuts, beer and chips, milk…and a burrito station. DAVENPORT. Home to the famous scientists, who are on the cutting edge of biology, ocean saving ideology, and some slow surfer locals, a goodly size group of private wealthy, who have carved out niche gardens and homes up in the small private windy roads, and then the transient tourist buses that meander up and down the coast, citing whales and surf waves all season long. Back to my crescent to full moon communiqué with the poison oaks and the thistle plants, there are several varieties. I am also chatting with the redwoods: majestic…. Let me start by saying I am highly allergic to poison oak, poison ivy…..having walked through some burning poison ivy one day when I was about 8 years old, and getting covered head to toe, with huge scabs. My mother was treating me for mumps, at first, until she realized I had a bad case of the poison ivy. Since then, I have held a fear of these plants. So, anyway, back in December, I was here in Davenport and caught a mild case of poison oak, from sheets that I slept in. So, it was a secondary thing. I carefully watched it for seven months, since then on the top of my foot, as it wanes, then gets worse, then wanes. It has been so interesting. It’s been a relation with mutual respect, and me getting over my fear. I have treated it with Technu and some other moisturizing oils, and as long as I wear socks in my boots, I am fine. I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know the plant, and its gentle protection of the forest, and the animals that live within its walls, thickets, and impenetrable mass. So, to the missive from the plants: POISON OAK…..I found out that the role it is playing is very protective for all the wild animals. It is in a mutual respect relations with all forms of animals. Helping to hide, and protect them, offer the brush, thickets a way to grow thicker, along with the other thistles, and ferns. Thistles seem to be a favorite perch of the birds, although farmers and rancher disdain the thistle, and in May, of this year I mowed down a field, that was cornered w incoming thistle. If you don’t take them down before the flowers seed, it becomes a bigger issue for ranchers the next year. These relationships with the plants are integral to country living. Mutual respect is a key theme that has been able to keep people from being too crowding in these redwoods, and to keep the animal kingdom away and protected from encroachment from mankind. I am keen to explore more with these plants. The male fern is poisonous, to taste, but it is metaphysically very protective. I love these ferns……So, the theme opens up the season of harvest, with a question…for us all: how can we walk our paths, while having mutual respect, allowing others their mysterious private kingdoms, and not following them too closely up into their privacy, and personal business. Being enthusiastic, open, and on a threshold, of mutual respect, is the stride, that most healthy people here in a small town uphold. It is interesting that it is JUST this message that the forest shares with me on this special harvest time……let us pray: I am every so grateful for the widening circle of friends, family and clients, who walk the path, with me, and on their own individual paths. May we all be wise, in our communications, as mercury finishes his second retro of the year, over the next four days. Be gentle, as the stag that I saw gracefully bounce up into the woods….this morning. Here is what I wish for us: gratitude for a process of becoming wiser, clearer, and focused, on our goals. May we know the mutual respect, and honour and the protection that these plants from the kingdom can bring to our lives. For magickal work, we call on the three plants listed: poison oak, for ultimate protection, thistle for the slow march of protection of the meadow lands, which translated to human emotions…is the place on the edge of our deepest mysteries within, the place that people view and our places of ourselves where we share our outer vulnerabilities…..a place where we can be nourishment for birds that land on our flower heads, who come to share their essence. And for the ferns, who shade the undergrowth of toads, and magickal insects, of life on the forest floor…..our own subconscious. The poison oak feels like it is a mutual respect in our outer community….if someone penetrates our edge of the wood, they get to see our vulnerability, and we become a better person….able to be authentic, not afraid, to be who we are, faults, and all. In a sense authentic beauty is that which contains all our flaws, as perfection. This was the missive, which became crystal clear, through the blessings, of some dear friends, who have been skyping with me, in the little cabin in the forest……through the full moon. Last night, it was way high above the antenna of the redwoods…..I have been sending up my intentional thoughts, prayers, and thoughts as complete gratitude, and those of friends, family and clients who have emailed me theirs. I continue…as we leave the venus retro shadow tomorrow on the 5th of August, and then Mercury goes stationary direct on the 7th….we will still have 3 more weeks of shadow with mercury but things should begin to move forward. So, for the next few days, is the time for this meditation, over the re-grouping, re-organizing, and re-thinking, before we move ahead. Use the time wisely. All my love, from the forest…..xoxoxoxo Libby 2017 I would just add that 5 years into my dance in this community I am loving the people, place and perfume from the #SCENTGARDEN that has been created. xo I share my forages with clients. Fundamentally, Connective Physics confirms mathematically that the universe is connected and that there are no limits. It is from this fifth element position that this spicy aphrodite's nectar celebrates you and your connectivity within your worlds. This parfum was designed as a part of my SHAMAN COLLECTION in 2010 and will relaunch for HOLIDAY 2017. It is a warm aphrodisiac. Here is a bit of the sacred geometry surrounding the parfum, and the dance between the heavenly bodies of earth and venus. This venusian earth dance parfum has an old world feel to it, harkening back to the spice and trade routes in our early modern times, in the east..... it was from these starry night time camel routes, in the deserts, and over the mountainous terrain that the earliest nomad traders, were able to chart their paths, and destinies...using the heavens... do you think that they knew what sacred geometry was being drawn in the big skies above? Read on for more of the dance that this parfum makes for us.... it is the perfect tantalizing and seducing spicy hot yumminess.....please enjoy, and happy reading~xoxo Much Love, Libby Sacred Venus : 'The Synodic Cycle' The ratio of the 'Sacred mean' can also be seen in the rotations of Venus and the Earth around the sun so that for each five years that Earth rotates around the Sun, Venus manages to rotate it eight times). Venus orbits the Sun in 224.701 Earth days ( ~.615 Earth years ), moving slightly faster than Earth. Because of the two different orbital rates of Venus and Earth, Venus must orbit the sun 2.6 times while Earth orbits 1.6 times before the two planets align. This period (583.92 Earth days) is called the Earth-Venus synodic cycle (synod means "place of meeting"). (3) The result of this motion is that Venus 'draws' a pentagon around the sun every eight years. The Earth-Venus CycleA sacred geometric architect works with certain givens of the surroundings, such as the Cardinal Directions and alignment with respect to features of the landscape. Similarly, there are certain repeating phenomena which form the ideal foundations of a sacred calendar. An excellent example is the Venus-Earth-Sun cycle. For a start the length of a Venus year equals, to quite a high degree of accuracy, the Golden Ratio of the Earth year, i.e. the ratio of the difference between the two to the shorter (the Venus orbit), is the same as the ratio of the shorter (Venus) to the longer (the Earth-Sun year). This is a very promising start. The Venus cycle is an ancient pattern in human culture. For example, we know from the Venus Tablet of Ammisaduqa that the cycles of Venus were tracked in the Mesopotamian region in the Bronze Age. We also know from the few surviving texts that Venus was closely tracked by the Maya. The Dreamtime, the accumulation of human impressions of wonder and appreciation, is stronger with an ancient, long cherished temple - a pattern in architectural space - than a younger one, all other things being equal, and the same is logically true of a pattern in calendar space. This Venus cycle taps us into rich ancient fields. Geometry, being absolutely definable to the mind, enhances this transpersonal idea resonance, which is why classical architecture uses it to further magnify these Dreamtime fields. Venus has a cycle in our skies which takes, very elegantly, eight full Sun-Earth years to complete almost to the day, with similar accuracy, thirteen Venus years (orbits of Venus around the Sun). The eight-year period can be shown as an octagon, where each point is the position of Venus in Her solar orbit on the same day on the eight different years (Martineaux, A Little Book of Coincidence), with the alternate years shown here in their square relationship. "Venus has a cycle in our skies which takes, very elegantly, eight full Sun-Earth years to complete" During this time there are exactly 5 Venus synods, that is to say the loops where Venus goes retrograde, appearing to moving backwards, like the backwards step in a Greek circle dance, due to Her movement around the Sun. 5, 8 and 13 are numbers in the golden spiralling series that approximates closer and closer to the Golden Ratio. So the Venus cycle in our skies occurs during an 8-year period in which Venus circles a full 13 times around the Sun. So, here we are again in a 13-based time cycle, in which the same pattern of intersecting circles can be applied as we saw with the period of thirteen days, in other words one where the thirteenth movement creates the first circle from the future, like the egg of the Phoenix. In fact Venus, the Morning Star, was apparently associated in Ancient Egypt with the Phoenix, the Benu bird that lays the primordial egg. The Book of the Dead says "I come forth like the Bennu, the Morning Star" and apparently the planet Venus was called the "star of the ship of the Bennu-Asar". The name benu is thought to come from an Egyptian word meaning to rise and shine, and one of the Benu bird's Egyptian titles was "He who came into being by himself" - just like Circle Thirteen. So each of Venus' thirteen almost-circular orbits of the Sun can be seen as the drawing of one of the circles in the extended Genesis pattern. Perelandra When I lived on the EAST COAST in Washington D.C. and in Virginia afterwards, I had the pleasure of visiting Perelandra on the one weekend it was open in the year for visitors. I had an incredible experience of feeling nature spirits on the path between the big spiral circle garden and the workshop. This walk was through the woods, and where Machaelle Small Wright had a fenced off area she called the nature intelligence office. I was with a friend, in shorts and a short sleeved tee shirt and experienced myself brushing what I thought were cobwebs off of my body, but in reality it was the energy of these nature intelligence beings. I had always looked in the forest when I was a little girl collecting spring wildflowers for the faeries, and could always feel their presence. This was a beautiful confirmation. I met Machaelle a decade or more after I had met the people from Findhorn. Both were using a communication system to help with the gardening. I have always talked with plants, and am happy to share this coning session quote from one of Maechelle's books. Machaelle Small Wright "Nature is, after all, the order, organization and life vitality of all form. At all time, it may create, modify and utilize form in response to the moment. The 'appearance' of a nature spirit is a response to the inherent balance of the moment that includes an individual human being. More often than not, the nature-spirit form used is seen only within the mind's eye of the person with whom nature wishes to communicate. However, whether seen within the mind's eye or by the individual's outer sensory system, the form is equally real. But it is a communication bridge in the form of an elf, not an elf with an independent life of its own. The nature spirit level of nature's consciousness does not need elves and gnomes to function. That level simply flows through all existing form directly. When such an event occurs, many humans unfortunately tend to overlay it with expectation and definition that is unique to human intelligence. It has different dynamics and has been initiated and activated for a specific purpose. If humans could focus on the communication surrounding such an event rather than get lost in the excitement of the event itself, more would come of the experience; and it would be more useful to them, as well." "The word 'Pan' is used by humans to access and work with the part of nature intelligence that bridges the creative activity (devic) with the action and implementation activity (nature of spirit) of the intelligence. The Pan function of nature intelligence also bridges these two activities with the overall soul dynamics 'natural law' or 'laws of nature'." This article goes over a few solid ways to wear parfum to make it last longer. I will also add that there are several different levels of longevity, for parfums. My most popular style parfums, called Soliflore are single note and usually heart notes that tune us up but do not stay with us like a date night parfum. Most of my customers trend towards this style. For more information on how to make a parfum last check out the article. Oh! And one of my favourite applications is in the hair. L P O
