Honoured to be one of the core artists. Working on a few summer launches, now. Lots of fun, playful and romantic scents. Lightness of being is prominent. See you soon, come visit. Consider joining me for one of our workshop events soon. XO Libby Power Outages on the #Slowcoast allow that serenity, unplugging, letting go of our lists, venturing out into nature, seeing what is blooming, foraging for current perfume projects.
We watch the creek flow, the waves ebb and flow, and the rains greening our landscapes. These moments in time, replete with tasks of starting generators, making cozy nests, building fires, darting to and fro to gather twigs, seeing us slowing down to a crawl, to breathe, take that extra hour to really listen, see, and be. The season of abundant el nino rains is fast becoming my favorite season here yet. As J Nichols would say: "I wish you water". In 2013 I created a parfum based on the landscape of the region we live in called the SLOWCOAST. WAVE PARFUM is composed of herbaceous botanical scents that a surfer would encounter on a normal hike down one of our many bluffs to the surfline onto the beach for a session of beach combing, surfing, tidepooling, and a sing around a campfire with s'mores to cap off a beautiful day at the ocean.
This scent embodies the #BlueMind essence in many ways. The ingredient list reads like a who's who of ocean flora and fauna. Created specifically for author Wallace J. Nichols who shared with me he travels with this scent so that when he is away from home he brings his home beach with him. Wave was featured in J's International bestselling book "Blue Mind: The Surprising Science That Shows How Being Near, in, On, or Under Water Can Make You Happier, Healthier, More Connected and Better at What You Do". Ingredients: Seaweed Absolute Fir Anise Eucalyptus Cypress Sage Ambergris Blue Tansy Frankincense Cade The entire recipe/formulation is suspended in an organic jojoba making this a slip on moisturizing scent that starts as a light herbal walk, and finishes with a smoky campfire finish. If you love the beach this is a neuroscience scent that can trigger good memories of times you loved on vacation, special occasions, and daily meditation in, on, near or under water. Pick up a 5ml Parfum in our online shop. The way to use the scent: I like to roll some onto my palms, then frictionalize my palms together, and then cup my hands over my face and inhale. I lightly pull my hands over my face touching ever so slightly, around my temples, forehead, sinuses/cheeks, carotid on my neck, in my hair, on the back of my hands, forearms, and elbows. I love the way this scent is very soft, mellow, yet haunting. My design process includes bringing you back to a neutral palette so you can navigate your daily life. Once the cellular and ethereal uptick is created after the application of the scent, the brain responds immediately within seconds. Inhale, and enjoy the mini vacation to your favorite beach, bluff, and ocean. XO L I made this soup for a dinner party for the first time, and was surprised at how delicious it turned out. It is a gale wind outside with rain storm this afternoon, so I made the soup again with a twist. I added a yellow zucchini and some chopped up leftover chicken. You can make it without these.
All Organic Ingredients: 1 small chicken breast cooked 1 small yellow zucchini, sliced thinly half teaspoon kerry gold butter Seaweed Broth Starter by Trish Gallagher in Mendocino Several Baby Carrots from the garden, sliced thinly Several Leaves of Baby Swiss Chard One stalk Lemongrass, perforated with cuts every few inches, tie into a small knot One medium Blood Orange Cayenne Pepper to taste Maldon Salt to taste Half Cup of LPO Balance Tea and Refresh Tea In a medium sauce pan fill with filtered water, add Lemongrass and heat to a boil. Take off heat, stir in Zucchini slices, swiss chard, carrots, seaweed broth starter Let sit for half hour, then add butter, and sea salt, cayenne. Remove Lemongrass stalk. Place entire concoction into blender and puree. Add Blood Orange and Half Cup of Room Temp Balance Tea (Lavendar and Lemon Peel) & Refresh Tea (Peppermint and Spearmint) from LPO Place back onto low heat until at medium warm temp. Pour into white latte bowls and sip without a spoon. Supportive during a winter, rainy storm day/night. Soup/broth is a soft warm pink colour XO ENJOY~ There is a very sweet canyon where nettles line the creek, which flows through the redwood forest on Swanton. There are foraging mountain lions, bobcats, deer, ants, and much more within the ecosystem. The scents during the early morning, and nightfall are damp earth, while the daytime sunshine brings a honey soft floral tone, mixed with green grasses, ancient horsetail, fern, forget-me-nots, and flowering fruit trees: apples, pears, plums.
Herbal notes of lavendar, rose petals, camellias, and peppermints, lemon verbena, mock orange, rosemary, and redwood trees, water flowing through, the nuanced scent of a possibility of salmon, steelhead and wet mossy rocks. Launching Spring 2016 This week our forget-me-nots are getting engulfed by larger taller growing grasses, nettles, poison oaks, ferns, miner's lettuce, and much more. The beautiful faerie florettes in pinks and blues feature prominently in many of my spring parfums that I work on from raw and wild plantings that sing to me from the breezy meadows. Young Buck features all the springtime blossoming trees and is a mature three year old now. As this parfum has aged, it has become more refined, more delicate and a definite come hither almost imperceptible whisper of that first blush of springtime love in the air feeling.
