Yesterday morning I visited my friend Anne's garden in Pescadero and it was like stepping into a fairy tale garden where everywhere I turned there was another huge beautiful rose bush full of blossoms ready to be harvested. This was such an act of generosity. Anne is on the Garden Tour committee and I do hope that they bring back this beautiful event to Pescadero sometime soon. Her yard is amazing and lush with so many fragrant roses. I am so inspired to add some of these distinctive roses to my Scent Garden now.
Gertrude Jekyll by David Austin, Jude The Obscure by David Austin, and many others are now on my shopping list to plant. I did add a Desdemona by David Austin this past year to replace a climbing rose that a gopher took out at the shops. It just started to bloom. A Pescadero Coastal Rose Parfum is in the making now, with nuances of some other beautiful flowers. Very excited. Watch for this to appear in the shops later this summer.
