Yesterday I was checking on the citrus trees here.

Lemons
Limes
Mandarins
Pink Grapefruit

The fruits are ripening, slowly in the cooler winter weather.

All these citrus fruits are wonderful in a crisp new year scent profile.

Iconoclast is a great scent from LPO that includes Pink Grapefruit, and there are some lovely custom bath essences containing it.

The large fruits get processed, as an infusion, into perfumer's alcohol and tinctured.

Tis the season. Fruits, bright beautiful crisp new beginnings.

I have a very sensitive nose so I never really get to ignore scents. If you ask me this is both a gift and a curse. It helps that I am able to smell things better than other people, however, it also makes me want to barf at times. There are certain smells that can really kill me and my mood, you know. I will not go into detail, but we humans exhibit odor that surpass the level of disgusting.
